President Yamazaki wins W. David Kingery Award

President Yamazaki has been awarded W. David Kingery Award by The American Ceramic Society (ACerS)*. The award recognizes distinguished lifelong achievements involving multidisciplinary and global contributions to ceramic technology, science, education and art. President Yamazaki has been awarded by the following reason: “In recognition of his pioneering industrial leadership and seminal contributions to oxide semiconductors that have led to several innovative materials technologies playing key roles in the development of solar cells, nonvolatile memory, liquid crystal displays, organic electroluminescent displays and integrated circuits.”

On October 15th in 2018, the award was presented at the ACerS 120th anniversary annual general meeting in Columbus, Ohio, U.S.

*The American Ceramic Society (ACerS) is a non-profit organization established in 1898 for the ceramics community in Westerville, Ohio. ACerS comprises more than 9,500 members including a wide variety of scientists, engineers, researchers, manufacturers, plant personnel, educators, students, marketing and sales professionals from more than 70 countries.
