President Satoshi Seo receives 2024 MEXT Commendation for Science and Technology

President Seo received the Award for Science and Technology in Development Category in the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for “Development of Highly Efficient and Long-life OLED Device.” This award recognizes “persons who have engaged in groundbreaking R&D or inventions, which have contributed to the development of our country's social economy and people's lives, and are actually being utilized.”
He is recognized for his contribution to the development that simultaneously achieves higher efficiency, lower drive voltage, and longer life of OLED displays, which will reduce environmental impact and increase the performance of OLED devices. The research results are used in light-emitting layers of almost all currently commercially available OLED displays.

This technology also won the 20th CSJ Award for Young Chemists in Technical Development from The Chemical Society of Japan (2014) and the Invention Prize at the National Commendation for Invention from Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (2018).
