Chairman Yamazaki has renewed his own GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title of "Most patents credited as inventor" with a total of 20,120 patents (as of March 31, 2025).
He began applying for and acquiring patents in 1969 while still a student based on the teachings from his mentor, Dr. Yogoro Kato.
Since achieving the record for the first time in 2004, this marks the third update to the record, following previous updates in 2011 and 2016, finally exceeding twenty thousand.
